PARDEW’S CRISIS TALKS

- MARTHA KELNER at Upton Park

ALAN PARDEW told his players a few home truths at a meeting on Friday night and believes the response was evident as Crystal Palace battled back to earn a point at West Ham on Saturday. Palace are just seven points clear of the drop zone and have not won a Premier League game since before Christmas. ‘I wanted to ask the players whether they actually realise what has gone on,’ said the manager. ‘They certainly knew after and I think I got a good response.’ The Hammers’ hopes of playing in the Champions League next season were dented by a straight red card for Cheikhou Kouyate. West Ham boss Slaven Bilic said: ‘We will appeal because we want Cheikhou back. He was magnificent.’
