THIS COULD BE TURNING POINT FOR PALACE

-

CRYSTAL PALACE have only taken five points from the last 42 available. The one they earned at Upton Park could be their biggest of the season. After a flying start, they have been in dreadful form in 2016 and even though this was only a point, it felt like a big one. With Norwich winning, a defeat could have sent Alan Pardew’s side into freefall. Instead, this result could give them enough momentum to stay up. They steadied the ship and now Boro look like one of the favourites to go up.

As for Newcastle and Sunderland, we could be saying goodbye to one, or maybe two, big managerial hitters. Sam Allardyce and Rafa Benitez (left) would expect to survive but Sunderland missed a golden opportunity at home to West Brom and Newcastle lost so late on.

By the way, if you think Newcastle’s game at Norwich was dramatic, then tune in to Sky Sports 1 tonight at 6.30pm for a special on their epic 4-3 defeat by Liverpool from 1996 — one of the most electrifying Premier League games ever.
