Oliver right on handballs
LEICESTER are enjoying the benefit of any doubt from match officials. Danny Simpson could well have conceded a penalty early on when Sadio Mane’s shot struck the Leicester defender on an arm. I felt Michael Oliver got the decision right as Simpson’s arm was in a natural position, the ball struck the arm and it would have hit his body had it missed his arm. However, we have seen plenty of softer penalties given and Simpson’s arm did appear to move as the ball hit it. A weaker Saints penalty appeal came when the ball hit Robert Huth on the arm from a Charlie Austin cross.
