Fake products are best, says China tycoon

COUNTERFEIT goods are even better than the products they are copying, China’s richest man has said.

Self-made billionaire Jack Ma said there was little difference in the way luxury goods and knock-off products are made, with many using the same materials in the same factories.

Ma, the founder of Alibaba, a shopping platform similar to Amazon, said: ‘The problem is that the fake products today, they make better quality, better price than the real product, than the real names.

‘They’re the exact factories, the exact raw materials, but they do not use that name.’

Alibaba has come under fire in recent years for the ease at which knock-off goods are available on its online marketplace.
