GHOST HUNT Most Haunted, 10pm, Really

FOR the start of a new series, Yvette Fielding (pictured) is at Crewe’s Lyceum Theatre, which, promisingl­y, was built on a graveyard and is said to have six ‘resident ghosts’. Empty theatres are naturally creepy places, and this is a fun hunt, especially when the team split up — which is what you always scream at people not to do in horror movies.

FINAL EPISODE The Slap, 10pm, Lifetime

THIS overwrough­t but finely acted U.S. drama started with Harry (Zachary Quinto) slapping an unruly child at a party — and the consequenc­es from that have rippled outward, tearing fault lines between family and friends and making them face truths about themselves. That all comes to a head in this stark finale.

FREEVIEWFR­EE VIEW WAR FILMWAR FILM The Hurt Locker, 11.25pm, Film4

KATHRYN BIGELOW became the first woman to win the Best Director Oscar, for this ultra-real Iraq War movie. Jeremy Renner (pictured) is the soldier who’s an ace in the field, but who fails on the home front.
