THIS perky new six-part comedy drama is set in 1982 in Sheffield, as a retail and sexual revolution took over the living rooms of housewives up and down the country. Sharon Rooney, Penelope Wilton, Sophie Rundle and Angela Griffin (pictured) star in this fictionalised story of a group of Ann Summers demonstrators, women who sold underwear and more to their friends at parties in their homes. It’s tastefully done, given the subject matter, with the usual neighbourhood and marital tensions uniting a disparate group of women as they face life’s trials together — and it’s all set against a superb soundtrack of Eighties pop classics.
