BUTTON TURNS BACK CLOCK TO BAG SIXTH

- JOE DOWNES

JENSON BUTTON admitted he was ‘amazed’ after finishing sixth in Austria. The 2009 world champion started third but took advantage of Nico Hulkenberg’s slow start to sit second behind eventual winner Lewis Hamilton in the opening laps. ‘Great race,’ said the McLaren driver. ‘It was Brits first and second for seven laps.’ Button collected eight points — his best result since last year’s United States Grand Prix. ‘Sixth is much better than we hoped,’ said Button. ‘All the cars in front of us are much quicker, so I’m amazed.’ Turning his attention to Sunday’s British Grand Prix, Button said: ‘It won’t be like this unless it’s weird conditions, which it can be. ‘It’s in the UK, so of course the weather is going to be terrible!’
