Hooray — Gobi’s on his way

wE’rE weary of having our heartstrings pulled by another worthy request for charity, but spare a thought for Gobi.

He’s the scraggy little stray who befriended marathon runner Dion Leonard (right) and trotted alongside him for 78 miles in the searing heat of the Gobi Desert for a week.

Dion was desperate to bring his running mate mutt back to Edinburgh, but was struggling to find the £5,000 travel fare.

I’m pleased to note that as of yesterday, this adorable dog had raised £5,835 on his bring-gobi-home site and will soon be on his way. The rest of the money can buy him a thermal doggy running jacket for our cooler climes.
