Easter calls time
NICK EASTER retired from rugby yesterday to focus on his new coaching role. The Harlequins and England No 8, who will become the forwards coach in Quins’ newlook regime under director of rugby John Kingston, felt he could not commit fully to both playing and coaching. Easter (left), who is Quins’ most capped player, said: ‘After accepting the opportunity of being a coach-player I took some time to think about my career. I realised that whether I’m playing or coaching, there was no way that I would be able to give 100 per cent to both of my roles at the same time.’
