In the same week, we learn the U.S. Inland Revenue Service is demanding to know why Facebook based some of its business in Ireland where tax is 12.4 per cent, as opposed to 35 per cent in the U.S. — and may face a £3.8 billion tax bill. Zuckerberg believes he is above paying such petty things as taxes. He would do well to remember he’s an internet geek, not God.
