Shouldn’t Blair face war crime probe?
THOUSANDS of brave British soldiers risked their lives for their country in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many now live under the threat of criminal investigation for alleged war crimes. Yet no penalty of any kind has been imposed on the British politicians who sent them to fight. What a shocking example of double standards. Thanks to the Chilcot report, we now know Tony Blair and his ministers miserably failed to plan for the invasion — then gave soldiers the wrong equipment. It’s palpably clear that there’s one law for British squaddies — and another for politicians. If anyone is to face charges of manslaughter over Iraq and Afghanistan, surely it should be Tony Blair and the coterie of advisers who surrounded him.
