Sophie childhood secret: ‘I looked like an orphan!’

ROALD DAHL’s glamorous granddaughter sophie might be one of our most successful models, but the 6ft blonde didn’t have the most auspicious start in life.

The 39-year-old, who quit the catwalk in 2007 to write about food, shared this picture to reveal a very different version of the leggy blonde.

sporting a simple bob and glasses, sophie, who has two young children with jazz singer husband Jamie Cullum, is the first to admit how far she’s come.

‘As a child, I looked like one of those adopt-a-child posters, with round, Nhs spectacles,’ she says.

‘By the time I was 17 I looked like a refugee from the Playboy Club, with enormous bosoms, blonde hair and a liking for very short skirts and fishnets.’
