DIET LET ME FULFIL LIFE LONG DREAM

-

Val cornall, 50, has lost more than 6st in eight months. She lives near Preston, lancashire, and works as a lunchtime supervisor at a school. Married to David, 61, a farmer, they have three grown-up children. She says: I’vE always wanted to go on a zip wire, as well as complete a high-ropes course (where you swing, rather like a monkey, through the trees).

It looked like such fun. But I was always too heavy.

At my largest, I weighed 17st 4lb, despite being just 5ft 5in. nothing could shift the weight for good.

Then a routine blood test three years ago showed me to be pre-diabetic. It came as a terrible shock.

Despite trying the 5:2 diet, and losing weight for my daughter’s wedding, the temptation of carbohydrates on my non-diet days was too much.

The pounds soon came back with a vengeance, and I was 16st 10lb at the beginning of this year.

Today, thanks to The 8-Week Blood sugar Diet, I’ve lost 6st 5lb so far. I’m down to 10st 1lb, and I’m still losing weight, even though I don’t count calories any more.

As well as this, my blood sugar levels are on the low side of normal.

I feel so much healthier and have more energy to play with my two lovely young grandchildren.

After all those years, I no longer feel guilty about food: I’m in control.

And this summer saw me swinging joyfully from a zip wire — something that I could never have dreamed of before.
