attempt at humour during this week’s PMQs, in which she wished Peter Bone MP a happy birthday and joked that his wife should ‘treat the occasion in the appropriate manner’, has been given the unlikely seal of approval by comedian Jack Whitehall. ‘I can’t say I ever thought of Theresa May as being funny, but when she told that joke about Mr Bone’s wife, my perception of her changed,’ Jack, 28, tells me. ‘she went in pretty strong and I don’t think she even realised how funny it was going to be.’
