Beatles promoter locked up for rapes

A WEALTHY music promoter who worked with The Beatles will die behind bars after being jailed for 15 years for raping two girls.

One of Mervyn Conn’s victims was just 15 when he drove her back to his house in his Rolls-Royce before raping her in 1976.

After bragging about The Beatles, Conn, now 82, of Wimbledon, raped the girl on his bed next to a photo of himself and his wife. Jurors at Kingston Crown Court heard the girl felt like she’d been treated ‘like a rag doll’. Another teenager, aged 16 in 1985, was promised tickets to a country music concert but when she went to pick them up at his London office Conn raped her.
