NFL get details right

THE minute attention to detail that the NFL put into staging a match is symbolised by the dressing-room alterations at Twickenham ahead of the Los Angeles Rams v New York Giants game tomorrow.

Unlike Wembley, and the special locker rooms purpose-built for American football planned when Spurs’ rebuild their White Hart Lane ground, the Twickenham facilities are too small for gridiron requirements, despite being renovated before the 2015 World Cup.

So the home dressing room has been expanded to include the gymnasium while the away dressing room has had to incorporate the England Rugby Internationals Club hospitality room. This has meant taking out the bar, installing a new floor, removing walls and raising the ceiling — just for one match.
