DRESS IN BLOCK COLOURS

AS WE get older, we have to strike the right balance between being stylish, but without looking too eccentric. One of the best ways to do this is by wearing block colour outfits, rather than prints. Wearing just one or two colours together always makes an outfit look expensive, even if it isn’t.

KEEP MAKE-UP LIGHT

MY SKIN is quite dry, so I always look for products with shea butter and essential fatty acids. I use Embryolisse’s Lait-Crème Concentre (£20, cultbeauty.

co.uk), which is a brilliant day cream or make-up primer. I also love bare-Minerals Foundation (£26.50,

bareminerals.co.uk) and wear a bright lipstick, which makes my teeth look whiter.

NEVER STOP LEARNING

NOTHING keeps you more energised and spirited than a demanding job that you love! I run my own business, so the pressure is on to stay focused all the time — there’s no time to let my mind or my body slow down. One of the great things about working in fashion is that I get to connect with, and learn from, talented people, both young and old, who are constantly teaching me new things. Keep working, learning and improving, no matter how old you are.

DEEP CONDITION YOUR HAIR

BOUNCY, healthy hair is essential for a youthful appearance, and I thoroughly recommend Shea Moisture haircare products. They work wonders to lock in moisture to any frizzy hair, not just Afro types. I discovered these in America but, excitingly, Boots now stocks them. I never leave home without my Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Gel Souffle (£12.99, boots.com).

CHOOSE FRIENDS WISELY

WHEN we get older, it can become difficult to maintain relationships, especially if we’re busy with work or family. But surrounding yourself with a small, supportive group of friends is essential to keep your lust for life. Making time for them is hugely important, too, so set aside a couple of days each month. Good friends will always put a smile on your face, but they will also push you to be better and achieve more. These are the people that keep you young.
