THIS is the schoolboy who was crushed to death in a Topshop store when a display barrier fell on him.

Kaden Reddick, ten, had been shopping with his aunt in Reading on Monday afternoon when he suffered head injuries.

Last night his devastated family paid tribute to the ‘sweetest boy’. His heartbroken aunt Chantelle Cowley, from Plymouth, confirmed the death of her nephew who was due to turn 11 next month.

She said: ‘Kaden only ever made me laugh and smile.

‘He had an infectious personality and the world is now truly missing the sweetest boy it could have asked for.

‘I can confirm that the photos are of Kaden. I just want people to know this Valentine’s to take life by the horns because literally every second is sacred.

‘Kaden never knew how many people truly loved him,’ she added. His parents Lisa Cooper Mallett, who is believed to work for the RAF, and Ian Reddick, who works for a funeral directors, were being comforted by relatives and friends.

Kaden was knocked unconscious shortly after 4pm and, despite paramedics’ efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead at hospital within the hour. Witnesses said on Facebook that they saw the ‘jewellery counters tipped over’.

Police and council safety officials are investigating the tragedy and a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out. Topshop said it was ‘deeply saddened by the horrific accident’. In a statement, the fashion chain added: ‘All our thoughts are very much with the family at this difficult time.

‘We are thoroughly investigating all the events surrounding this extremely sad situation.’
