ULLOA GETS SHOCK CALL

- By LAURIE WHITWELL

Leonardo Ulloa is in contention to make his first leicester appearance since accusing his manager Claudio ranieri of ‘betrayal’. The argentinian striker is among the options available to ranieri for Saturday’s Fa Cup fifth-round tie at Millwall, having recovered from a thigh injury.

Ulloa has not been named in a leicester squad since limping off during the first half of the third-round tie at everton on January 7. He was called in for an unexpected training session on Monday alongside other players who did not feature in Sunday’s defeat at Swansea. after that game, which left leicester one point above the Premier league relegation zone, ranieri admitted he would have to con- sider axing some of the players who won the title last season.

It is understood that at Monday’s traning session, Ulloa joined Shinji okazaki, Ben Chilwell and daniel amartey, and is available for selection.

Should ranieri pick the 30-year-old, it would be a dramatic turnaround. on the eve of transfer deadline day last month, he tweeted: ‘I feel betrayed by ranieri and let down by the club. I will not play again for them.’

Ulloa then further infuriated club officials an hour later by giving an unsanctioned interview in which he stated his desire to leave the club.

leicester turned down a £7.5million bid from Sunderland on deadline day, refusing to sell to a relegation rival.

Yesterday, ranieri said: ‘now it is important that the players show me their best, show me their professionalism and show their quality.’
