Inspire the next generation with your love of sport . . .

-

THERE’S never been a better time to get into the fitness industry.

The number of people taking part in sport weekly grew by more than 229,000 in the year to December 2016, to reach 15.97 million, according to Sport England.

And a sports or fitness franchise offers a way into the business.

Former footballer Karl Fox is now a franchisee with Premier Sport, running his own business delivering sports sessions in schools.

Karl, 36, says: ‘I started by delivering the coaching myself as well as marketing my services to schools, but as my business grew I took on coaches and business managers.

‘It’s rewarding turning my love of sport into a business and having a positive impact on children’s lives.’

Karl, from Norwich, says: ‘I could have set up my business alone, but as a Premier Sport franchisee you get the benefit of an existing brand, a ready-made website and a bookings management system, leaving time to grow your business.’

Premier Sport director Luke Miles says: ‘The franchise allows you to make your love of sport into a business.

‘ We provide franchisees with accredited sports qualifications and full business training.’ The franchise costs from £15,000.

If you would prefer to run a gym, the 9Round franchise is looking for franchisees in the UK.

Eroll Suleyman, who runs the UK’s first 9Round kickbox fitness gym in Wandsworth, South-West London, says: ‘I started boxing training for weight loss but fell in love with it, and now it’s great to see our customers getting good results from their workouts.’ He advises potential franchisees: ‘Come to our gym and try it out.’

Franchisees can run the business as owner/trainers.

The gyms are relatively small and equipment limited to boxing training equipment such as punch bags and medicine balls, so the total investment is £120,000 to £130,000. PREMIER Sport 01953 499040; 9Round 020 88772416.
