Women in Heath abuse claim ‘have discussed compensation already’

THE alleged victims of Sir Edward Heath have already discussed making compensation claims for sexual abuse before the police probe into the former premier concludes.

A group of women who have accused the late politician of being part of a satanic paedophile cult have talked about possible payouts and one woman may have already submitted a claim, it is understood.

The family say the MP was part of a satanic sex cult run by their parents who killed as many as 16 children, which would make them the worst child murderers in British history if the claims were true.

But there are no records of missing or murdered children that match their accounts. The women’s lurid claims were dismissed by police in 1989 when they first came forward. But Sir Edward’s name was never mentioned. It was only last year that he was named for the first time after one woman said she had ‘remembered’ a man they called ‘Ed’ was part of a network of paedophile abusers. The development comes as it was reported yesterday that police have also quizzed a convicted hoaxer, a Twitter ‘fantasist’ and a sex offender over the allegations.

More than 30 people have come forward so far giving accounts of child sex abuse. Wiltshire Police are preparing a report set to justify its £900,000 18-month long probe.

The report could pave the way for a flood of compensation claims on the estate of Sir Edward, who died in 2005 at 89.

A spokesman for the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority would not confirm if any compensation claim had been made. The allegations angered Sir Edward’s godson Lincoln Seligman, who said: ‘Further damage will have been done to the reputation of a man who cannot defend himself.’ Yesterday, a Wiltshire police spokesman said: ‘We are not prepared to discuss the ongoing investigation.’
