Latest IS stunt: a puppy bomb
THESE shocking images show what is claimed to be Islamic State’s latest terror weapon – a puppy fitted with a tiny explosive vest.
The improvised device, made of bottles connected by electrical wires, would have been detonated by remote control as the animal crossed front lines and walked towards rival forces, it is claimed.
Luckily for the terrified puppy, it was found by members of a governmentbacked Iraqi militia. A two-minute video posted online shows the three men discussing the device before defusing it, saving the dog’s life. They said the explosives could have killed or seriously injured up to four people.
IS has been deploying a range of increasingly desperate weapons as it struggles to hold on to its strongholds in Mosul in Iraq and Raqqa in Syria, including using commercially available drones equipped with grenades to drop bombs on opposing forces.
