KANE: MY STATS SAY I AM ONE OF WORLD’S BEST

- By MATT BARLOW

Harry Kane has vowed to keep the goals flowing in his bid to prove Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was right to hail him one of the world’s best strikers.

‘If you look at my stats and my goals, then I’m up there,’ said Kane. ‘If anyone wants to print that, I’m more than happy.’

He has 22 goals for Tottenham this season, despite seven weeks out with injury, and is joint-top of the Premier League charts with 17, one every 106 minutes. With 12 League games to play, Kane is eight short of his total for last year and in the form of his life.

‘It would be brilliant to retain the Golden Boot,’ said Kane, 23. ‘Hopefully I can continue to 25 or 30 goals. That’s always the aim. I feel fresh and sharp.’

Meanwhile, Spurs are close to agreeing a contract extension with Toby alderweireld, a deal to keep the defender until 2020 and end his £25million release clause.
