Melania’s victims of migrant crime

-

FOUR Americans whose relatives were killed by illegal immigrants were special guests at Donald Trump’s speech to the US Congress.

The group sat in the audience with First Lady Melania Trump and other members of the President’s family.

They were invited as Mr Trump announced a new government unit, Victims of Immigration Crime (Voice). He said: ‘We are providing a voice to those who have been ignored by our media and silenced by special interests.’

His guests included Jamiel Shaw Sr, whose 17-year-old son Jamiel Jr was killed in 2008 by Los Angeles gang member Pedro Espinoza, 23.

Mr Trump also welcomed Susan Oliver and Jessica Davis, whose husbands – Deputy Sheriff Danny Oliver and Detective Michael Davis – were killed while on duty in California. Luis Bracamontes, 36, and his wife Janelle Monroy, 40, are awaiting trial over the 2014 deaths.

‘These brave men were viciously gunned down by an illegal immigrant with a criminal record and two prior deportations,’ Mr Trump said. ‘Should have never been in our country.’

Mrs Oliver had brought her daughter, Jenna. Mr Trump told her: ‘I want you to know that your father was a hero and that tonight you have the love of an entire country supporting you and praying for you.’

Mrs Trump, 46, wore an £8,800 black sequined suit by Michael Kors with a thigh split to greet the guests.

Some suggested it was unsuitable for the sombre occasion, with one social media user asking if the First Lady was planning to go clubbing after the speech.
