MEAL DEAL The Competitio­n and Markets Authority is considerin­g whether to investigat­e Just Eat’s deal to buy German rival Hungryhous­e for £200m from Delivery Hero.

SALES TRIMMED The High Street had its worst February since 2009 as the economy and Storm Doris hit spending. Like-for-like sales fell 2.2pc, after they were down by 1.7pc in the same month last year, the BDO High Street Sales Tracker showed.

FORECOURT FIRST BP has opened its first petrol station in Mexico. The forecourt in Mexico City is the only global oil companybra­nded site in the country, which deregulate­d fuel retailing in 2013. BP said it could open 1,500 others in Mexico over the next five years.

PROFIT BOOST Retirement finance firm JRP Group has announced a 58pc rise in profit to £164m. The firm said it had cut £30m in costs since its creation through a merger between Just Retirement and Partnershi­p Assurance last year, with a target of £45m by the end of next year. Shares rose 0.1pc, or 0.1p, to 150.2p.
