BOSS QUEST Forbidden Technologi­es, a cloud video-editing platform, is searching for a boss after its chief executive left last month. Aziz Musa resigned last month for ‘personal reasons’, and a replacemen­t has yet to be found. The firm narrowed its losses from £2.6m to £2.4m on revenues of £774.8m, up 9.3pc. Shares fell 8.2pc or 0.62p to 7p.

TRAVEL COVER Wizz Air, the largest low- cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced a recently-signed partnershi­p with Chubb to provide its customers with travel and flight insurance cover. The cover is available in 23 countries in Europe, and in 17 languages.

DIRECTOR ROLE Vodafone has appointed a former assistant secretary-gen- eral of the United Nations and deputy secretary-general of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Developmen­t as its group external affairs director. Joakim Reiter is joining the telecoms firm, and will replace Matthew Kirk on April 1.

CAPE HOPE Shares in Cape climbed 1.3pc or 2.25p to 176p after the energy company revealed it had settled an ongoing asbestos dispute. The company, which has been embroiled in a lawsuit with insurers seeking to recoup money from asbestos cases dating back to the 50s and 60s, said it had agreed to pay a £18m settlement – which did ‘not imply any acceptance of liability’ – upfront, with a deferred payment of £34.5m between 2018 and 2023.

TECH TROUBLE Losses at Verseon widened after the company advanced its drugs developmen­t programme. The firm, which uses technology to discover treatments that are unlikely to be found using convention­al methods, posted a pre-tax loss of £16m in 2016, up from £6.3m the year following a push in research and developmen­t costs.

MIXED FORTUNE Computacen­ter’s boss said 2016 was a year of ‘mixed fortune’ for the firm, as it posted falling profits despite rising sales. The group, which provides computer services to public and private sector companies, said profits fell 0.6pc to £86.4m from £86.9m the year before. Sales rose 6.3pc to £3.2bn.

LOSSES GROW An increase in exploratio­n expenses caused mineral explorer Salt Lake Potash to post widening losses in the first half of the year. Pre-tax loss widened to £4.1m in the first half of the year, from £1.8m the year before.

CAR DEAL Samsung has completed its £6.5m acquisitio­n of Harman, a US company that designs and engineers connected products for car makers.
