Jose: I’m still Chelsea’s greatest boss

- By SAMI MOKBEL

JOSE MOURINHO hit back at Chelsea fans who branded him ‘Judas’ last night by claiming he’s still the club’s No 1 manager. The Manchester United boss was subjected to taunts from the fans who used to worship him during last night’s fiery FA Cup quarter-final. The Portuguese responded by holding up three fingers in reference to the three Premier League titles he won during his two spells as manager at Stamford Bridge. And Mourinho said after the match: ‘They (Chelsea fans) can call me what they want. I am a professional. I defend my club. ‘Until the moment they have a manager that wins four Premier Leagues for them, I’m the No 1. When they have somebody who wins four Premier Leagues for them, I’ll be No 2. For this moment, Judas is No 1.’ Mourinho was sacked midway through last season after a sorry start to Chelsea’s Premier League title defence. But the Portuguese suggested he could have won the Champions League had he been allowed to see out the season, which ended with the Blues finishing 10th and outside the European places. ‘We spoke about the fact we are playing in Europe and our opponents (Chelsea) aren’t,’ said the United boss. ‘You know, our opponents could (have been playing in Europe). I left the club last season in the Champions League, in the knockout phase playing the second leg at home. If they won the Champions League last year, they’d be playing in Europe this season. It’s not my fault.’ United midfielder Ander Herrera was sent off by referee Michael Oliver for two yellow cards and Mourinho added: ‘This season Mr Michael Oliver, a referee with fantastic potential, with Manchester United in four matches (has given) three penalties and one red card. At the end I shook his hand, I told him congratulations. There’s nothing to speak of.’
