BERENBERG put a ‘buy’ rating on the materials firm, with a target price of 112p on the shares – more than 60pc above the current level. The broker said they looked cheaper compared to some rivals because performance has historically disappointed. But Berenberg is positive on the new management and said a production upset that affected progress last year had been resolved.

SELL THIS: Gym Group

N+1 SINGER kept its ‘sell’ rating on Gym Group despite last week’s final results being in line with expectations. The low-cost gym group saw shares dip after a major investor placed 39.1m on Thursday. Singer said the firm’s start to the year was encouraging, with membership numbers up 10.5pc, but it feared growth could falter in the longer term as the market reached saturation.
