Uber boss walks out
UBER’S president has resigned amid claims of sexism and sexual harassment among management at the taxi app firm.
Jeff Jones, who joined less than six months ago, criticised the ‘beliefs and approach’ of the company, and stepped down with immediate effect.
The US firm was forced to investigate after a former uber engineer claimed her manager made sexual advances towards her.
Jones said yesterday he joined uber ‘because of its mission’, but added: ‘It is now clear, however, that the beliefs and approach to leadership that have guided my career are inconsistent with what I saw and experienced at uber, and I can no longer continue as president of the business.’
