A WOMAN who was pulled alive from the Thames after jumping off Westminster Bridge to escape the attacker was among the dozens of victims in yesterday’s atrocity.

French children on a school trip to London and a young Conservative activist visiting Westminster were also injured by the Hyundai driven by the suspected terrorist.

Victims were wheeled away on stretchers while others were treated at the scene. One injured man was pictured with a bandage wrapped around his bloodied head.

Three of the French pupils were in a critical condition last night. One was catapulted into the air and ended up on the roof of the car.

The students are believed to be 15 or 16 and attend the private Lycée Saint- Joseph in Brittany.

Fellow pupils told of how they were ‘ seconds’ from death after the driver sped towards them.

One boy, named only as Johan, told France’s Ouest France paper: ‘The car hit three boys, we all had the reflexes to move back.

‘Then the man got out of the car and started to run towards Parliament. We heard the two gun shots. Then I saw people on the ground, I think they had been stabbed.’

The attacker also targeted 13 students from Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, Lancashire. The university said four were hurt. One had head injuries, another wrist injuries, while two were walking wounded.

Travis Frain, 19, from Darwen, Lancashire, the Chairman of Conservative Future’s West Lancashire branch, suffered a cracked rib and injuries to his hand. His mother said he was in hospital but was in ‘good spirits’ and in a stable condition. Mr Frain has previously volunteered for Conservative Darwen and Rossendale MP Jake Berry.

Owen Lambert, 18, from Morecambe, who was one of the university students and suffered a head wound, said the car used in the attack ‘came out of nowhere’.

A Romanian couple on holiday are also thought to be among the injured. Andrei, an engineer in his mid-20s, and Andreea, his girlfriend, were caught up in the attack.

64, Retiredsaid he surveyor believed Patrick Andreea Tracey, had been severely injured while Andrei had suffered an injury to his leg after being hit by the car. A mes- sage on the Romanian Embassy’s Facebook said two of the country’s citizens had been injured and taken to local hospitals. Five Korean tourists were also reported to be among the injured, one seriously. One witness, bus driver Michael Adamou, 25, said he believed at least one woman had jumped into the Thames to escape. ‘The first thing I saw was the two people laying lifeless on the floor,’ he said. ‘I heard one guy come running behind me shouting his wife had jumped into the river to avoid getting knocked down.’
