The naughty dog really did eat my homework!

-

RESEARCH released by Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, has revealed that pets with problem behaviours cost the average UK owner £353.28 a year, equating to more than £4,000 over the average dog’s lifetime.

Four out of ten owners have had to explain themselves after their dog really did eat their homework, including dissertations and important work documents!

Despite this, 85 per cent of dog owners in the UK have never had advice on training their pet.

It’s a worry that one in five dogs are reportedly never let off the lead. And for those dogs let off the lead in public, 58 per cent of owners say that their pet can’t be trusted to always come back when called.

Yet 56 per cent believe that professional training would give their dog a better quality of life.

Now Dogs Trust Dog School has been launched to show owners how to teach their dog new skills using positive reward- based training. They will also find out lots about dog behaviour to help them develop a trusting relationship.
