Rather than coming clean, she hotfoots it to the Canaries with her best friend (Jessica Lange). FOOTBALL Atletico Madrid v Leicester City, 7pm, BT Sport 2 HAVING knocked out Sevilla, Jamie Vardy and co are back in Spain for this Champions League quarterfin­al first leg. Two of the Foxes’ three other European campaigns were ended by Atletico, so they’ll need better luck here. Meanwhile on BT Sport 3, Bayern Munich host title-holders Real Madrid. REGENCY ROMANCE Pride & Prejudice, 6.30pm, Film4 JANE AUSTEN’S classic is given yet another airing by British director Joe Wright (Anna Karenina). Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen are Lizzie and Darcy, the judgmental pair. FRESH AIR THINKING Into The Wind, 7.30pm, BBC4 WHAT is the ‘pure sound’ of wind? Answering such questions is one of BBC4’s reasons for being and, for this philosophi­cal new film, Tim Dee is out on the Wash in Lincolnshi­re with a microphone, mulling poetry, weather and the importance of a good walk. REALITY STAR Sam Faiers: The Mummy Diaries, 9pm, ITVBe THE series following the ex-Only Way Is Essex star returns for a new run, and change is on the horizon — the family are moving to LA. There’s a lot to organise and, between the book tour and business plans, there is also an ‘Essex-style’ party to celebrate baby Paul’s first birthday. FANTASY LAND Emerald City, 9pm, 5Star IN THIS first season finale, the Wizard marshals his guntoting knights — and that imposing Stone Giant — for a clash against the witches, led by Glinda (Joely Richardson, pictured). Both sides are so cold and vicious that it’s hard to root for either of them, but there’s plenty of spectacle and surprise to be had. ROYAL SITCOM Henry IX, 9pm, Gold EPISODE two settles into cosily amusing territory, as the King ventures outside the palace — incognito, he thinks, in a moustache and mac — in order to meet his florist (Kara Tointon), who doesn’t seem to have a say in the matter. The comedy highlight this week is his Scottish protection officer. FREEVIEW THRILLER Side Effects, 9pm,p More4 AN INTRIGUING and slightly murky drama from Steven Soderbergh, continuing in the same vein as his 2011 medical thriller, Contagion (which came from the same writer, Scott Z. Burns). Rooney Mara stars as a troubled woman who is prescribed experiment­al antidepres­sants by her doctor (Jude Law, pictured). GRISLY U.S. CRIME Criminal Minds, 10pm, Pick AS SEASON seven makes its Freeview premiere, fan favourite A.J. Cook returns full-time as J.J. after having been let go, reportedly as a cost-cutting measure, at the start of season six. J.J. is one of two familiar faces to pop up in the opener to a run that promises to dig into Reid’s drug addiction.
