Gwynnie’s guide to eating fast food... healthily

USUALLY, if it isn’t green and clean, Gwyneth Paltrow won’t eat it.

But it seems even the self- confessed queen of healthy eating has her weak moments.

The actress has published a survival guide to fast food on her website Goop.com, detailing the healthiest options for the times you really can’t resist heading to McDonald’s or Domino’s.

And, unsurprisingly, the best choices often mean eliminating fried items, bread, cheese and sauces.

The article states: ‘While here at Goop, we do our best to keep things clean and healthy, we’re also realists who know that sometimes – especially when it’s airline-terminal-adja-

cent, right off the next highway exit, or at your kid’s all-day competition – we’re going to eat fast food.’

The post says you should choose a fruit salad rather than a blueberry muffin or chocolate brownie if you make a trip to Starbucks.

And for sandwich shop Subway, it suggests using it as a salad bar.

On popular fast-food restaurants for children such as McDonald’s, the Goop team seem to suggest a lettuce-wrapped grilled chicken burger with no cheese and side of apple slices is the best bet.

The spin on a conventional pizza from Domino’s is to ask for veggie pizza with a gluten-free crust with an additional ‘pro tip’ to ask for ‘no cheese, light cheese or half of each’.

And it even says that at chains like KFC, people should just order their sides, such as mashed potatoes, sweetcorn and coleslaw.

In an interview last year, Miss Paltrow, 44, spoke about her own eating habits to ‘clear the air’.

She said: ‘I think there’s a lot of misinformation about what I actually eat. I really don’t have any rules. I really believe in delicious food and enjoying life and not saying no to anything.

‘I love French fries and cheese and martinis and all that kind of thing.’
