Clarifications & corrections
On the Letters’ pages on April 13, reader edward Dill claimed that historian Dr John Fox, who had commented in an earlier letter about Ken Livingstone’s ‘hitler’ remarks, was a witness in the David Irving holocaust denial libel case of 2000. We are happy to clarify that, while Dr Fox submitted a witness statement supporting Irving on the grounds of freedom of expression, he did not give evidence in person at the trial, nor did he endorse Irving’s views.
