BBC drama over the staff loos with no paper towels

- Daily Mail Reporter

HUNDREDS of BBC staff have complained after paper towels were taken away from their toilets – and replaced by hand dryers that don’t work.

Some of the 5,000 fed-up workers at New Broadcasting House in London’s West End have resorted to bringing in their own towels or drying their hands on their trousers or skirts. The paper towel dispensers were taken out in February and, in what was meant to be an eco-friendly move, swapped for hand dryers.

But many dryers have not been connected to the electrical supply in the £1billion building that opened in 2013.

Bosses have been told but one worker complained: ‘I lost count of the times I stood there shaking my hands over the sink to try and get them dry. In the end I just brought in a hand towel from home.

‘We are all fed up about the whole situation and it needs to change pronto.’ The BBC was approached for comment.
