Mail order firm steps out on the high street

-

MAIL-order fashion brand Boden is expanding beyond its catalogue roots and moving into British high streets.

The retailer, well known for its bright prints and cosy knitwear, is due to open concessions in John Lewis stores.

This autumn it will open inside John Lewis branches in Oxford Street, Cambridge, Reading, Southampton and Oxford. More are planned for 2018.

So far the company’s only physical shop is in Hanger Green, west London, but it plans to roll out shops across the UK and beyond.

The brand had a turnover of £283m in 2015 and pre-tax profit of £23.9m.

Jill Easterbrook, the former Tesco director who joined Boden in February, said: ‘We are really excited to be going into John Lewis. I can’t wait for more people to discover Boden.’
