MATT DAMON (pictured) is back — older and more grizzled, but still with a chip on his shoulder. The film is directed with gusto by Paul Greengrass, and there’s plenty of frantic, globetrott­ing action.

NEW HORIZONS The Mars Generation, Netflix

THE infectious enthusiasm of American youngsters at Space Camp, hoping to land on Mars, is captured in Netflix’s documentar­y. ‘It’s our duty to breathe fire into the imaginatio­ns of these young people,’ says scientist Michio Kaku in an uplifting hymn to hopes, dreams and the allure of space travel.

PARIS POLITICS Spin, 9pm, More4

EVERY week, this thriller delivers bombshell after bombshell and yet still manages to remain faintly plausible. Last week’s key developmen­t was the pregnancy of the President’s mistress, and it’s only a matter of time before spin doctor Kapita will have to deal with that. For now, he’s got a hostage crisis to keep him occupied.

MANCHESTER TALES The Street, 9pm, ITV3

ORIGINALLY shown on BBC1, although it was actually produced by ITV, Jimmy McGovern’s Baftaand Emmy-winning drama begins a repeat on ITV3. The first story finds Angela (Jane Horrocks), a married mother of three, embarking on an affair with a neighbour, which turns sour.

NEW WORLD DRAMA Jamestown, 9pm, Sky 1 SCI-FI SERIES Sense8, Netflix

THE Wachowski siblings’ ambitious, global drama about eight people who share a telepathic link — and are being hunted by mysterious forces — returns with ten new episodes.

SEVENTIES HITS Classic Albums: Carly Simon — No Secrets, 10pm, BBC4

CARLY SIMON reflects on the album that gave us You’re So Vain. So, who was it about? Her manager says they never said for sure, partly because they were always asked: ‘The answer wasn’t as important as the game.’ Still, Simon says verse two was definitely about Warren Beatty.
