Soft on terrorism

-

THERE can be no comparison between the actions of the Parachute Regiment on Bloody Sunday and the ruthless IRA murder of Captain Robert Nairac.

In Londonderry in 1972, soldiers opened fire in panic and confusion, believing they were under attack. Five years later, in one of the vilest crimes of the Troubles, terrorists tortured and killed Captain Nairac in cold blood. They are believed to have fed his body into a meat grinder.

Yet in an affront to justice, it was revealed on Friday that 18 soldiers may face charges over Bloody Sunday – while now it emerges that two IRA fugitives suspected of Nairac’s murder were given immunity from prosecution by Tony Blair.

What sort of country persecutes those who risk their lives to defend it, while letting its vicious enemies escape justice?

In a sickening twist, it has emerged that Jeremy Corbyn was arrested in 1986 for joining a picket outside the Old Bailey to ‘ show solidarity’ with IRA terrorists, including the Brighton bomber.

Could there be any clearer proof that he’s utterly unfit to be prime minister? HARDLY a month passes without new evidence that modern strains of cannabis cause serious mental illness, including psychosis linked to violent crime. Yet driven by woolly-minded ideology – and a cynical bid for student votes – the Lib Dems will pledge in their manifesto to legalise this drug that has brought misery to countless families. If these ageing hippies were truly committed to the welfare of the young, wouldn’t they be urging police to enforce the ban they routinely ignore? NEITHER he nor his bride is thought to have attended their proxy wedding in Ghana, where both were born. Yet Albert Awuku is set to win the right to live in Britain, since his wife is a German national. Welcome to border controls, EU-style. Is it any wonder most voted Brexit?
