VARIETY SHOW Tonight At The London Palladium, 8pm, ITV THIS week’s bill features the cast of revived musical Annie, along with music from none other than Elkie ‘Pearl’s A Singer’ Brooks (pictured), some mindbending mind-reading by The Clairvoyants and a cameo from Brian Conley. PASTRY PROFESSIONALS Bake Off: Creme De La Creme, 9pm, BBC2 THE second semi-final sees two more teams of pastry chefs doing battle over two incredibly complex challenges set by exacting judges Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin. Task number one is to prepare six identical multi-layered sharing desserts; task two is 240 sweets. If you are on a diet, look away now. NEW SITCOM White Gold, 10pm, BBC2 WRITTEN by Damon Beesley (The Inbetweeners) and featuring very bad language — a lot of it — from the start, this new comedy revolves around Essex double-glazing salesmen (including Inbetweeners stars James Buckley, pictured, and Joe Thomas), riding the crest of the business wave in the Eighties. There are some funny ideas, but six episodes seems to be pushing it.

FILM CHOICES Secrets In The Attic, 3.15pm, Ch5 THE U.S. title, Boy In The Attic, offers a major clue as to what the big secret is here. Abbie Cobb is the teen falling for the fella hiding out in the loft, despite knowing nothing about him. But how long will her romance stay hidden when he is accused of murder? Whiteout, 1.50am, Ch4 KATE BECKINSALE (pictured) turns on the ice-maiden charm, but can’t lift this Antarctica-set thriller above the ordinary. She plays a U.S. Marshal who, with her friend Doc (Tom Skerritt), investigates a series of murders at a far-flung outpost, just as a storm is about to make departure impossible.
