Kids need bacteria, says Titchmarsh

-

aLan titchmarsh has praised the Duchess of Cambridge for eating a tomato that had fallen on the ground at the Chelsea flower Show.

Kate was offered a cherry tomato by radio 2 DJ Chris evans. However, as she took it, it fell on the decking of evans’s taste Garden. Kate quickly retrieved the fruit and popped it in her mouth.

Yorkshireman titchmarsh insists people are not exposed to nearly enough bacteria these days, and that’s why children fall ill so easily.

‘It’s a fuss over nothing,’ he says. ‘I am a great believer in the Yorkshire saying: “tha’ll eat more than a peck a muck afore tha dees.”

‘I believe we should build up our antibodies, and there are far too many antiseptic wipes about.

‘Our children catch everything and they never used to.’
