The benefits of putting your feet up

-

MAKING changes to our everyday lives can help to improve our mobility and keep us active for longer. An adjustable bed, for example, allows its user to get into a more comfortable position. For those who have swollen legs or poor circulation, being able to raise their feet can ease symptoms so that they have more function the next morning. If they have breathing problems or back ache, just raising their upper body at a slight angle can allow them to get a better night’s sleep. Being able to raise the top half of their body also enables them to get out of bed more easily, while making it easier to read or watch television in bed. And an adjustable bed can provide proper lumbar support, unlike cushions and pillows that move around when you are asleep.

TOO much standing or sitting can lead to poor circulation, so it is recommended to raise the legs. A chair with a high-lift leg raise helps you to pump the blood back to your heart. Reclining chairs also give good support to the knees and ankle joints and help people to sit in a comfortable position, easing any pressure and pain. Far better than using a footstool or table to prop our feet up, a rise and recliner chair gives support from your hips down to your heels, while also helping you to get up safely, while taking pressure off the lower back and knee joints. Raising the feet is now an everyday activity and chairs that enable you to do this now often have a contemporary look that fits into the home very well.
