Conte’s new deal

- MATT BARLOW

INTER MILAN are resigned to defeat in their ambitious bid to prise Antonio Conte from Chelsea this summer. They have turned the focus of their search to Roma boss Luciano Spalletti. Inter have not given up hope of one day luring Conte to the San Siro to become the face of the club under their new Chinese owners, but he is now expected to sign a new contract at Chelsea after the FA Cup final. The Italian, 47, will command improved terms on his £6.5million-a-year deal, which has two years to run.
