JOSE’S BIG-MONEY STAR PROVES WORTH AT LAST

AFTER struggling to make an impact in big games this season, Paul Pogba finally stepped up when it mattered. This was the first time I have seen him influence such an important match in the last year. Pogba failed to make a mark in both games against Liverpool and was outshone by N’Golo Kante in the FA Cup quarter-final at Chelsea. I’ve seen it before with several good players — some just don’t know how to handle the hype — but Pogba has had to deal with an awful lot. He has had to justify his world-record price tag and recently lost his father. Pogba is still an excellent player. His challenge is to be a midfield general more consistently but last night’s display will have given him the confidence to do so.
