Sick Murray’s on antibiotics

- By MIKE DICKSON

AndY MURRAY is confronting another health scare as he prepares for next week’s French open. The world no 1 has been on antibiotics to counteract viral symptoms and is said to have barely practised on Monday and Tuesday this week after feeling what his spokesman described as ‘under the weather’. However, he was yesterday able to put in a vigorous session on the Court Philippe Chatrier at Roland Garros. Murray was said to be feeling much improved during his hitting session with Fernando Verdasco, but his latest struggles could hardly have come at a worse time. He suffered an episode of shingles in February and, a month later, developed elbow problems and went down with flu, causing him to miss the Miami open. He has struggled to gain any momentum since and will be hoping for a generous draw at this morning’s ceremony.
