DEFOE TO NET £20m FROM BOURNEMOUTH

-

JERMAIN DEFOE will complete his move to Bournemouth from Sunderland by the end of this week. Terms have been agreed on a three-year deal that will see the 34-year-old earn a staggering £20m. Defoe (below) has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave Sunderland on a free transfer after they were relegated. Despite his age and poor service, Defoe scored 15 league goals last season and earned a recall to the England squad. The move will see Defoe link up again with Eddie Howe — he played alongside the Cherries boss aged 18 in the 2000-01 season on loan from West Ham. Howe, however, will not move for Chelsea captain John Terry.
