More migrants warning

-

NET migration is likely to increase under Labour, an analysis of its manifesto has suggested.

The party has ‘little desire’ to reduce current levels of immigration and its proposals would pave the way for thousands more migrants to arrive, said the thinktank Migration Watch.

It added Labour will put no limits on numbers coming to Britain and has also vowed to scrap the £18,600 minimum income rule for the partners of non-EU migrants.

Migration Watch said: ‘Abolition of the minimum income threshold would throw our doors wide open to an unlimited number of partners.’

Net migration – the number entering the UK minus those leaving – was 248,000 last year.
