Miranda ‘marries billionaire in small but lavish event’
MIRANDA Kerr has married billionaire social media mogul Evan Spiegel in a ‘small but lavish’ ceremony, it was reported yesterday.
The model, 34, and the 26-year-old cofounder of photo-messaging app Snapchat tied the knot at Spiegel’s home in LA, according to People magazine.
‘For a small wedding, it has been a huge production,’ a source told the publication. ‘The wedding and reception were intimate, but lavish and classy. Miranda has been very involved. She has great taste and knew exactly what she wanted. She is ecstatic to marry Evan.’
The star-studded event began with cocktails in a marquee in the garden while a pianist played When You Wish Upon a Star, a guest told E! News. A string quartet also played, while the decor was described as rustic chic, with farmhouse tables, white benches and chairs, and pink roses. A guest said: ‘Everything was done elegantly.’
Miss Kerr was previously married to actor Orlando Bloom, 40, with whom she has a sixyear-old son Flynn, but they split in 2013. The Australian model met Spiegel at a Louis Vuitton dinner in New York in 2014 and announced their engagement last July.
They are one of Hollywood’s wealthiest couples. Forbes estimates Spiegel is worth £1.64billion, while former Victoria’s Secret lingerie model Miss Kerr is one of the world’s highest paid models, earning £4.3million in 2015. Representatives for Miss Kerr and Spiegel declined to comment.
