Father-to-be in waterfall tragedy
A YOUNG father-tobe died while cooling off near a waterfall at a beauty spot.
Dani Khan, 19, pictured, who was out with friends on a hot day, is believed to have jumped into the water despite not being able to swim. Realising he was in trouble, his friends tried desperately to save the married teenager but he was under water for 15 minutes before being pulled out.
Mr Khan, from Middlesbrough, was airlifted to hospital in the town, but was later pronounced dead.
The tragedy happened on Friday when he visited Wain Wath Force, a waterfall on the River Swale near the village of Keld in the Yorkshire Dales. It has a plunge pool and is a popular swimming spot.
Mr Khan was studying mechanical engineering at Middlesbrough College. His friend Ayaz Ali, 18, said Mr Khan’s widow, Sonia Hussain, is pregnant.
