AGUERO IS STAYING, SAYS CHIEF

- CHRIS WHEELER

MANCHESTER CITY chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has vowed the club will not sell Sergio Aguero this summer, saying it is an ‘absolute must’ that the Argentina star stays at the Etihad. He also admitted there is ‘nothing to celebrate’ about Pep Guardiola’s first campaign in charge but insisted City are going in the right direction under the Spanish coach. Aguero has been linked with a move following the arrival of Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus in January. However, the 28-year-old is under contract until 2020 and Al Mubarak will not consider losing an iconic figure who has scored 169 goals in 253 games since signing from Atletico Madrid for £38million six years ago. Benfica goalkeeper Ederson Moraes edged closer to a £33m move by having a medical in Manchester yesterday.
