Bubble and chic! Hairdo fit for a queen

-

IT’S a hairstyle you might expect to see on a schoolgirl rather than a royal.

But this quirky ‘bubble’ ponytail was the coiffure of choice of Queen Letizia of Spain as she attended a party in Madrid on Tuesday night.

The 44-year-old wore her sleek brown hair in a ponytail gathered in sections along its length to create a bubble effect. She managed to maintain the voluminous shapes all night, likely due to the presence of miniature hair ‘donuts’ – rolls of nylon netting gathered into a ring shape and often used to achieve a perfect bun.

Queen Letizia completed her look with a lilac dress adorned with silver stars. The event at the Villa Magna Hotel to mark the 60th anniversary of the Europa Press Agency came ahead of her and King Felipe’s visit to Britain from July 12 to 14.
